Have you seen those big barrels around the school?
Those are not only barrels, they are this years solar boat! Middle school students are busy in the third year building a boat powered on only solar energy for this years MRES 20th annual solar boat regatta! Come out to lake Phalen next Saturday. Bring your beach chair, snacks, and maybe even your swim trunks!

A Thought About Solar Energy
Have you ever thought about solar energy and what it could do for us? It could be used on so many more things than it is. We could run all our electricity needs on solar power! Things like lights, cars, heating, blenders, water heaters and many, many, more things. We could run cities off of solar energy, states, and even countries, we might even be able to run the whole world off of it. Solar energy could be so much more for America. 
All we have to do is put it to use!
